Prerequisites:


Before starting the remodification process, ensure that you have:
  • A PlayStation Vita (remove the SD card at the top of the console)
  • A stable Wi-Fi connection


Step 1: Connect Your Device to the Internet1. 

Navigate to Wi-Fi Settings: - From the live area of your Vita, go to Settings > Network > Wi-Fi Settings. - Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password to connect.


Step 2: Launch the Web Browser

1. Open the Browser: - On the home screen, find the Browser icon and tap it or select it with the X button.

2. Enter Jailbreak URL: - Navigate to the address bar and delete any existing URL by pressing the square button repeatedly. - Enter the following URL: http://jailbreak.psp2.dev - Go to the URL by tapping the green box with the white arrow or pressing the Right Trigger 2.


Step 3: Squeaky Clean Your Browser for Best Results

1. Open Browser Settings: - Tap the three dots in the bottom right corner and select Settings.

2. Enable JavaScript: - Ensure JavaScript is enabled by checking the box next to it.

3. Delete Cookies and Clear Search History: - Select Delete Cookies and press X to confirm by selecting Yes. - Select Clear Search History with the X button, confirm by sliding to the Yes button, and press X.


Step 4: Activate VitaDeploy/VitaShell

1. Navigate to Remod Page: - Use the D-pad to control the pointer. Move it to Unlock My Vita and select it with the X button. The browser will open to the Henlo bootstrap.

2. Insert SD2Vita: - Insert the SD2Vita back into the machine.

3. Install VitaDeploy: - Select Replace Near with VitaDeploy. The Vita will reboot.


Step 5: Enable Homebrew Capabilities

1. Open Settings: - Find the Settings bubble on the live area of your device and tap it or select it with the X button.

2. HENkaku Settings: - Inside the settings menu, find HENkaku Settings and select it. Ensure the box to Enable Unsafe Homebrew is checked.


Step 6: Set Storage Devices (First Configuration)

1. Go Back to Main Menu: - Press the circle button to go back to the main menu.

2. Configure Storage Devices: - Select Devices > Storage Devices, and set the following: - Use YAMT: checked - ux0: Default - uma0: SD2Vita


Step 7: Use VitaDeploy to Open VitaShell

1. Open VitaDeploy: - Locate the *VitaDeploy* bubble in the live area, tap it, or select it with the X button to launch it. It may be called "vdep".

2. Navigate to File Manager: - Open VitaDeploy and navigate to the file manager.

3. Edit Config File: - Go to the tai folder and open config.txt. - Go to line 35, which enables the automatic boot of RetroFlow, and comment it out by adding a # at the beginning of the line. Press X to enter the editor, save the changes, and exit.


Step 8: Set Storage Devices (Second Configuration)

1. Go Back to Main Menu: - Press the circle button to go back to the main menu.

2. Configure Storage Devices Again: - Select Devices > Storage Devices, and set the following: - Use YAMT: checked - ux0: SD2Vita - uma0: Memory Card


Step 9: Reboot the Machine

1. Reboot the Vita: - After making the necessary changes, reboot the machine to apply the settings.
